About Paul

Paul Christian has served as a teacher-leader in the BPS and BTU community for over 25 years. He has served in many roles-- as a lead Math educator and instructional coach, BTU Building Representative, and as an elected School Site Council member.

Paul has served BTU as Trustee and Secretary of the BTU Prepaid Legal Services Fund, as a Member of the BTU Committee on Political Education (COPE), and as a BTU delegate to all affiliated bodies.  Paul has participated in impact bargaining, arbitration, and as a silent rep at collective bargaining.

Throughout his career, Paul has built solid relationships that advance trust, solidarity, and inclusion among the BTU community, in our schools, and especially with the students and families we serve.

Paul grew up in a family with deep Union roots and counts among his family Boston Firefighters Local 718, Ironworkers Local 7, IBEW Local 103, and Mass Nurses Association.

An attorney with membership in the Massachusetts Bar and the Federal Bar, Paul has brought his legal expertise to the table on a wide range of issues that impact our schools, our students and families, and our Union. No candidate is more qualified to serve the Boston Teachers Union as our next Executive Vice President.

As Executive Vice President, he will lead the enforcement of our contract through knowledgeable and skillful leadership of the grievance process.  He will fight for increased compensation and improved working conditions,  as well as improved benefits for ALL of our members active and retired.
